ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy

Course Overview

This course is an absolute essential for any therapist involved in the Complementary Therapy and Care Industry. Training with us to become an Aromatherapist will give you the specialist knowledge you need to blend and prescribe for your clients’ specific needs. This course is designed to train a complete beginner up to a professional Aromatherapist and will include learning an Aromatherapy full body massage routine to perform on your clients. On this course you will learn the properties of 42 essential oils, their benefits and how to use them appropriately and safely as well as learning to blend creams and lotions. You will be taught about diseases and disorders of the body as well as advanced massage techniques, lymphatic drainage and acupressure points. Qualifying with ITEC allows you to join federations, gain insurance to set up your own business or gain employment as an Aromatherapist in salons, clinics, health clubs, spas and hotels. This ITEC qualification is recognised internationally and accepted all over the world.

This course incorporates three modules of Anatomy and Physiology, Aromatherapy, Professional Conduct and Business Awareness. This means that once the course has been completed you will be qualified to start your own practice. However, this also means that the course is intensive and will require home study, e-Learning and 40 case studies. Once students have achieved an ITEC Level 3 Diploma that includes Professional Conduct and Business Awareness and Anatomy and Physiology, these transfer to other ITEC therapy modules.

Course Requirements

In order to complete your ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy, you will also need your ITEC Level 3 Anatomy and Philology and the ITEC Level 3 in Professional Conduct and Business Awareness modules. These can be studied alongside this course and you will be given full support.

To achieve your Aromatherapy module you need to complete:

* A practical exam,
* Undertake 40 case studies
* Take 2 multiple choice question paper exams in both Aromatherapy and Professional Conduct and Business.

If you already have current prior learning in Level 3 Professional Conduct and Business Awareness and Level 3 in Anatomy and Physiology these modules will be accredited to the Aromatherapy module to complete the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy.

In order to enrol on these courses students need to have 5 GCSEs or equivalent life skills which can be discussed on application. Records of prior learning will also be reviewed and, if current, will be accredited to the courses.

The Aromatherapy course is £1,150. This includes 9 full days teaching and practical work, ITEC Level 3 Professional Conduct and Business Awareness, online support package for Aromatherapy massage and information on the 42 oils studied. This also includes exam fees. Another day will need to be designated for the exam on completion of the course.

We request a non-refundable, upfront deposit of £100 when you book and we can arrange for you to pay the balance in instalments if you wish.

Other costs will be books, uniform, towels, couch covers and oils. We feel very strongly that uniform, towels and couch cover should reflect your ongoing choice of colours for your practice rather than being stipulated by us.

We are able to order a student pack of 42 oils from our supplier at a competitive price if you wish. Please ask for details.
