This course is suitable if you are new to complementary therapies. Indian Head massage is a very versatile treatment and an invaluable ‘add-on’ for the massage therapist as it is a well-recognised treatment amongst clients. It can be carried out through clothes, or using oils, in a chair, treatment room or on site. It can take an hour, 30 minutes or just 15 minutes. Upon completion, this course gives students an ITEC Diploma Level 3 Indian Head Massage qualification. Qualifying with ITEC allows you to join federations, gain insurance to set up your own business or gain employment as an Indian Head massage therapist in salons, clinics, health clubs, spas and hotels. This ITEC qualification is recognised internationally and accepted all over the world.
This course incorporates three modules of Anatomy and Physiology, Indian Head Massage and Professional Conduct and Business Awareness. This means that once the course has been completed you will be qualified to start your own practice. However, this also means that the course is intensive and will require home study, e-Learning modules and Case Studies. Once students have achieved an ITEC level 3 Diploma that includes Professional Conduct and Business Awareness and Anatomy and Physiology these are transferable, and they can transferred on to other ITEC level 3 qualifications.
To achieve your Indian Head Massage module you need to complete:
* A practical exam
* Undertake 20 case studies
* Take 2 multiple choice question paper exams in both Indian Head Massage and Professional Conduct and Business.
If you already have current prior learning in Level 3 Professional Conduct and Business Awareness and Level 3 in Anatomy and Physiology these modules will be accredited to the Indian Head Massage module to complete the ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage.
In order to enrol on these courses students need to have 5 GCSEs or equivalent life skills which can be discussed on application. Records of prior learning will also be reviewed and, if current, will be accredited to the courses.
